Restaurace Zdravý život has been running since 2008 on a macrobiotic philosophy — a self-service buffet where you build your own plate from grains, legumes, and cooked vegetables, priced by weight. Macrobiotic cooking leans heavily on wheat and barley, though, often in the form of whole grains or seitan, so “macrobiotic” doesn’t automatically mean “gluten-free” here. Gluten-free ingredients like rice and buckwheat are always on the buffet, but picking a safe plate means reading the labels by each container rather than trusting the whole line. A full daily menu with soup and gluten-free desserts is served starting at 11am, and a herb garden out back supplies part of the kitchen’s fresh ingredients.

Svět bez lepku is a Czech chain that sells exclusively gluten-free products, and it exists in only three cities nationwide: Prague, Ostrava, and Brno.
